A lot has happened since I last wrote. We killed Bin Laden, missed Gaddafi, and we determined once again that our president was born in the U.S. I am glad we killed the son-of-a-bitch, but I can’t go out in the street and party about killing a human being.
Sometimes we have to kill people, but it’s tough to celebrate the death of others. I absolutely agree with Obama’s decision to send in the Navy Seals, but I also agree that not releasing the death pictures is a good decision.
I was fascinated by Bin Laden’s wife taking a bullet for him. I can see the same scenario with my wife Arlene, excusing herself to catch the big sale at Nordstrom. Not that she wouldn’t protect me, but priorities are priorities.
I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with the Seals. They are some of the most impressive people I’ve ever met. They are so calm, it’s as though their hearts don’t beat. You really don’t want them pissed off at you. We are very privileged to have these guys protecting us.
On an unrelated note . . . Governor Brown is taking the $356 million new and improved death row facility out of the state budget. We can use our old facility to house and kill the condemned inmates, even though the state hasn’t executed anyone in years. Sanity reigns. Thanks, Jerry.

Given the budget constraints of states and the federal government, it's time everyone took a look at the expense of continuing to fight a losing drug war. Not sure what the solution should be, but it needs to be a more libertarian approach for drug control and rehabilitation rather than incarceration.
